Established in 2017 under the “Festivales para un Territorio” brand, the 17\u00ba Ribeira Sacra Festival pays tribute to the steep terraced vineyards (socalcos<\/em>) where the grapes for the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin wines are grown. The event began as an extension of the \u201cBaixo a Vide\u201d concert series, created to connect music with the region\u2019s wine culture.<\/p>\n

Highly regarded for its small\u2011scale format, the festival has been honoured at the Iberian Festival Awards, among other competitions. It currently attracts around 5,000 attendees in total, with daily crowds limited to 1,500 to preserve its intimate character.<\/p>\n

The festival\u2019s popularity grows annually, thanks to a unique blend of stunning scenery and indie music from both Spanish and international artists. Framed by the spectacular Sil Canyon, the event steers clear of mass audiences, focusing instead on high-quality performances and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Close access to the artists and a selected range of fringe activities create a well-rounded, bespoke programme that sets this festival apart. It offers a rare opportunity to enjoy live music in perfect harmony with tourism and local heritage.<\/p>\n

Held at the end of July, the event takes place in various striking locations, including catamarans, viewpoints and wineries. The festival also celebrates the region\u2019s gastronomy through tasting menus, show-cooking and wine tastings, always with a focus on sustainable enjoyment of the natural environment.<\/p>\n
