On these days, handmade straw dolls are displayed to represent local residents and the area\u2019s traditional customs.<\/p>\n

The main event of Sober\u2019s Carnival takes place on Carnival Saturday. The streets of the town centre come alive with a fancy-dress parade, with prizes awarded for the best costumes in the group, pair, and individual categories. The festivities conclude with a lively party for all ages at the municipal sports centre.<\/p>\n

The day is filled with music and laughter. Snacks are provided to all attendees, while children enjoy bouncy castles and games. At dusk, the \u201cBaile de la Cachucha\u201d begins with a tasting of cocido, a hearty stew made with pig’s head, accompanied by local wine, and finishes with the traditional relleno de trip\u00f3n, a typical local dessert made from bread, milk, sugar, and eggs.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the \u201cComadres and Compadres\u201d Four-line Verse Contest was introduced to continue improving this festivity. The competition rewards the wit and satire typical of this pagan festival, providing a humorous critique of the most relevant events of the year.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner]
