The introduction of modern milling methods led to the disuse and gradual abandonment of these traditional structures. They eventually fell into ruin and were hidden beneath dense vegetation.<\/p>\n

Between 2005 and 2010, an employment workshop organised by Sober Town Council undertook a partial restoration of the complex. The project covered a stretch of nearly three kilometres, extending from the village of A Boca to Os Chanc\u00eds.<\/p>\n

In 2010, the idea for a festival in these surroundings emerged following a meeting between the local council, residents, and community groups to discuss the area’s needs. The aim was to highlight and promote the remarkable ethnographic value of the site and celebrate its restoration.<\/p>\n

This marked the beginning of the Festa dos Mu\u00ed\u00f1os do Xabrega<\/em>, a quintessentially Galician celebration where families and groups of friends gather to share food and enjoy a day in the countryside. As with any local festivity, music is ever-present, with performances by guest groups and various local musicians who enhance the festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n

This celebration, perhaps one of the most traditional in the region, preserves the essence of Galicias\u2019s old verbenas <\/em>(village fete). Taking place on the first weekend of July, the event welcomes anyone wishing to enjoy two days of festivities in a unique natural environment.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner]
