El municipio se localiza al sur de la provincia de Lugo, dentro de la comarca de Tierras de Lemos. Se organiza en 22 parroquias. Sus l\u00edmites geogr\u00e1ficos son: Monforte y Pant\u00f3n por el norte; al sur, el r\u00edo Sil que forma el l\u00edmite con la provincia de Ourense; al este, con Monforte, y al oeste con Pant\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Lato','sans-serif'; color: #333333;\">Las v\u00edas principales de comunicaci\u00f3n y acceso al municipio por carretera son la N-120 que se une el eje Ourense-Vigo hacia el este y a la meseta hacia el oeste, y las carreteras comarcales que lo enlazan con Pant\u00f3n, Monforte y Castro Caldelas.
