Established in 1994, the Public Library of Sober (Biblioteca Pública Municipal de Sober) is located on the first floor of the Socio-cultural Centre, situated behind the Town Hall.
The library is divided into two sections: one for children and young people and another for adults. It also includes an area with computers for public use.
The library forms part of the Galician Public Library Network (Rede de Bibliotecas Públicas de Galicia). Users must obtain a free library card to access services that require identification, such as borrowing books, magazines or films. For more information about the library card, please click here.
The Galician Public Library Network offers two mobile apps to access its services via smartphone or tablet: the Rede de Bibliotecas de Galicia app and the eBiblio app.

Tuesday to Friday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

In this section, we highlight the annual programme aimed at the various groups within our municipality:
- Pintor de Castinande Reading Club: A dynamic programme of reading promotion and social activities for adults.
- Faladoiro dos luns (Monday Gatherings): Workshops and educational talks.
- Merendas con Contos (Stories and Snacks): An annual children’s programme featuring a series of activities designed to foster a love of reading.
- Summer Camp: organised by the Town Council for children aged between 4 and 12.
